Strathmore and IAAF Birmingham 2018
Strathmore Water to hydrate athletes at IAAF world indoor championships Birmingham 2018.
On the back of a highly successful summer of athletics, supplying water to the IAAF World Championships London 2017, Strathmore water has been announced as the national supplier of
bottled water for the IAAF World Indoor Championships Birmingham 2018.
Athletes, officials and volunteers at the event, which is the biggest indoor sports event to be staged in Birmingham for 15 years, will be hydrated by more than 60,000 bottles of water being supplied by the water brand. More than 400 athletes from 150 countries are expected to take part in the Championships and hundreds of volunteers and officials are currently being recruited to work on the four day event, which will be held at Arena Birmingham from 1 to 4 March 2018.
Strathmore water will be made available for athletes, officials and volunteers at the official venue, plus at other key sites including the Birmingham High Performance Centre, the training venue for the Championships, and in all of the official hotels. It will also be on sale throughout Arena Birmingham for spectators attending the event. All the water bottles are recyclable and recycling facilities will be provided.
Strathmore water is bottled at source in the Vale of Strathmore, near Glamis Castle in Scotland and has a long-standing reputation for supplying water to major mass participation events including the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the IAAF World Championships London 2017.
